A 1980 American disaster comedy film. Ted Striker, a traumatised ex-fighter pilot with a neurotic fear of flying and an alcohol problem, nevertheless boards a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago in pursuit of his ex-girlfriend, who is a flight attendant on the flight. However, all the crew and some of the passengers go down with food poisoning and amid many mishaps Ted has to take over the controls and with the help of a traffic controller and his former commander try to land the aircraft.
